Our client, a well-established multi-disciplinary consultancy with over 45 years of experience delivering expert structural, civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineering services across a broad range of sectors.
Due to continued success and growth, they are now seeking an ambitious and experienced Associate Civil Engineer to join their Derby office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated senior-level engineer to play a key leadership role in a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy.
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering consultancy, with proven experience in both technical delivery and project management, as well as a clear track record of supporting work-winning and leading teams.
Associate Civil Engineer Job Overview
Leading the delivery of civil engineering schemes across residential, commercial, mixed-use and infrastructure projects
Managing both the technical output and financial performance of projects
Overseeing a team of engineers and technicians, including resource planning, mentoring and line management
Preparing drainage strategies, FRA reports, highway design packages and infrastructure specifications
Collaborating with clients, architects, local authorities, and other consultants to drive project success
Supporting directors with work-winning and business development initiatives
Playing an active role in internal leadership meetings and strategic planning for the civil engineering team
Associate Civil Engineer Job Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or related field
Chartered (or working towards Chartered) with ICE or equivalent
Strong design experience in drainage (SuDS, foul and surface water), highways and external works
Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroDrainage (or Causeway Flow), and Civil 3D
Proven track record in managing technical and commercial aspects of projects
Demonstrable experience in team leadership and mentoring junior staff
Comfortable contributing to fee proposals, bids, and client presentations
