Attendance Officer (Full-time, Term Time Only)
A well-organised and inclusive secondary school in Havering is seeking a reliable and proactive Attendance Officer to join their pastoral and administrative team from September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only position ideal for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills.
Salary: Scale 5 – £27,000 to £40,000 (FTE), pro rata (term time only)
About the role:
Monitoring daily student attendance, identifying patterns of absence and lateness.
Contacting families regarding absences and ensuring compliance with school procedures.
Working closely with pastoral leads and external agencies to promote regular attendance.
Maintaining accurate attendance records using the school’s MIS (e.g., SIMS or Arbor).
Preparing reports for senior leadership and supporting statutory returns.
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a school-based or administrative role (attendance experience preferred).
Strong IT skills, particularly in data entry and spreadsheets.
A professional, calm and approachable manner when dealing with students and families.
The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
