Role Requirements
BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, Midwifery, or Nursing (or equivalent qualification).
Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (MSc in Ultrasound desirable).
Registered with HCPC, BMUS, or SOR (or equivalent recognised body).
FASP-compliant with evidence of FMF registration.
A minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience, including early pregnancy, NT, anomaly, and Doppler assessments.
Full UK driving licence – essential for travelling between clinical sites.
Key Responsibilities
Independently perform and report on obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound scans in line with national and departmental standards.
Step in to lead the ultrasound service in the absence of the Lead Sonographer.
Ensure the delivery of safe and compassionate care, complying with Health and Safety regulations.
Collaborate with midwives, obstetricians, and other multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure integrated care.
Provide clinical supervision and training to student sonographers.
Participate in clinical audits, peer reviews, and initiatives aimed at maintaining and enhancing service quality.
