Location: Glossop, SK13
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: 8:15 AM - 4:00 PM (30-minute lunch)
Pay Rate: £13.68 to £15.89 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Reeson Education is currently recruiting a Behaviour Mentor to join a nurturing and specialist SEMH school in the Glossop (SK13) area. This full-time, long-term opportunity is perfect for a Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
The successful Behaviour Mentor will work on a 4-to-1 basis with a single pupil who requires consistent, patient, and emotionally intelligent support throughout the school day. The school provides high levels of staffing to ensure both pupils and staff are well-supported, and everyone has the opportunity to rest, reset, and succeed.
Key Responsibilities for the Behaviour Mentor:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
Work as a Behaviour Mentor as part of a high-ratio support team within a small class setting.
Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and engagement in learning.
Help the pupil navigate social interactions and classroom routines.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other Behaviour Mentors to implement tailored strategies.
Remain calm, consistent, and proactive in challenging situations.
Ideal Candidate for the Behaviour Mentor Role:
Experience working in an SEMH or similar setting is desirable but not essential.
A caring, resilient, and reflective Behaviour Mentor who can form strong, supportive relationships.
Comfortable working in a high-need, emotionally responsive environment.
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people who have faced barriers to learning.
Team-oriented, flexible, and ready to learn on the job.
