Job Description

Behaviour Mentor - Secondary School | Newham | Full-Time Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people? Do you have the resilience, patience, and confidence to support students in overcoming behavioural challenges? We are a diverse and inclusive secondary school in Newham seeking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to work closely with students in our Inclusion Unit. This is a vital role in helping to create a safe, supportive, and structured environment where every student can thrive. The Role: Supervise and support students within the Inclusion Unit who require time away from mainstream classes Build strong, trusting relationships with students to help manage and improve their behaviour Work alongside pastoral staff, SEN teams, and teaching staff to implement tailored strategies and behaviour plans Monitor student progress and contribute to reintegration plans back into the classroom Promote a calm, consistent and respectful atmosphere within the unit What We're Looking For: Experience working with young people with social, emotional or behavioural needs (in school or youth work settings) Strong behaviour management and communication skills A calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach A team player who is committed to the values of inclusion and equality We Offer: A full-time, term-time role with opportunities for ongoing training A chance to work in a supportive, experienced team Real impact: help students re-engage with learning and unlock their potential A positive, multi-cultural school environment committed to every student's success If you're ready to be a role model and a consistent, supportive presence in a young person's life, we would love to hear from you
