Job Opportunity: Behaviour Mentor - Blackpool, Lancashire Are you a resilient, empathetic, and proactive individual with a passion for supporting students to make positive behavioural choices? Do you have experience working with young people who may face behavioural challenges and a belief in their potential for growth? If so, this Blackpool Secondary School is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join their student support team. About the Role: As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students, teachers, and the pastoral care team to provide targeted support to students who may be experiencing behavioural difficulties. You will help to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviour, implement strategies to promote positive choices, and contribute to a consistent and supportive whole-school approach to behaviour management. Key Responsibilities: Providing one-on-one and small group mentoring to students identified as needing behavioural support. Developing and implementing individual behaviour support plans in collaboration with students, teachers, parents/guardians, and the pastoral care team. Implementing agreed strategies and interventions to address specific behavioural challenges. Monitoring and tracking student behaviour, providing regular feedback to relevant staff. Supporting students in developing self-awareness, self-regulation skills, and positive coping mechanisms. Facilitating restorative conversations and mediation's between students. Contributing to the development and delivery of whole-school initiatives aimed at promoting positive behaviour. Liaising with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies. Working with external agencies and support services as required.What We Are Looking For: Experience of working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviour, preferably within a school or youth work setting. A strong understanding of the factors that can influence behaviour and effective strategies for promoting positive change. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills. The ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students. Resilience, patience, and a non-judgemental approach. An understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures in Ireland.
