Prospero Teaching are recruiting a 'Behaviour Support Assistant in Brighton to play a crucial role in supporting students with Social,Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs as well as those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
You will work across primary and secondary schools, including special education settings, providing 1:1 support, small group interventions.
What you will be doing:
You'll work 1:1 with students who may struggle with their emotions or behaviour. These might be children with ADHD, autism, trauma backgrounds or social/emotional difficulties.
You'll assist the classroom teacher with managing behaviour so lessons can run smoothly. That could mean sitting beside a child who needs help staying focused or helping defuse tension before it escalates.
You'll support routines, praise positive actions, and use DE-escalation techniques if things get challenging. This role will be on a temp to perm basis and the pay will be hourly at £14 per hour.
