Job Description
A family run joinery company on the outskirts of Colchester are currently recruiting for a Bench Joiner.
Overview:
As a Bench Joiner, you will be working in a traditional workshop, reporting into the Workshop Supervisor and will be manufacturing bespoke products such as doors, windows plus much more.
This is a permanent role with a 3-month probation period, paying between £15 - £17 per hour, depending upon experience.
What does the position involve?
As a Bench Joiner you will be required to read from technical drawings/cutting lists daily
Oversee blade replacement schedules
Regular machinery maintenance to ensure that they are running as efficiently as possible
Reporting stock levels or machine errors to Workshop Supervisor
Quality checking of products to ensure that they meet the company standards
Working with colleagues on the shop floor to ensure that production deadlines are hit
Candidate requirements:
Experience working within a joinery environment
Proficient user of hand/power tools and woodwork machinery
Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team
Ability to read from technical drawings
