An Outstanding school in the coastal city of Portsmouth seeks a dedicated and experienced teacher to specialise in Key Stage 5 Biology. This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-achieving Science department and make a significant impact on our A-Level students' success in a region with strong links to marine science, environmental research, and healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
* Expertly teaching A-Level Biology to a high standard, ensuring excellent student outcomes.
* Inspiring and motivating academically able students to achieve their full potential in advanced biology.
* Contributing to the development and delivery of an engaging and rigorous A-Level Biology curriculum, including practical endorsements.
* Providing academic guidance and support to students pursuing biology, medicine, and related fields at university, potentially within the Portsmouth area with its marine biology focus.
* Collaborating effectively with colleagues within the Science department.
The successful candidate will:
* Be a qualified teacher with significant and successful experience teaching Biology at KS5 (A-Level).
* Possess a deep and thorough understanding of the A-Level Biology curriculum and assessment requirements, including practical endorsements.
* Demonstrate a passion for advanced biology and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively, potentially drawing on local marine or environmental examples.
* Have a proven track record of achieving excellent results with A-Level Biology students.
* Possess strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
