Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional looking to join a supportive and growing business in the heart of Sheffield? Beyond Talent has been engaged on an exclusive basis to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper to join the finance team of a stable and well established local business, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our transactional processes and month-end close.
About the Role
As Bookkeeper, you'll take ownership of day-to-day transactional duties while also providing key support during month-end, working confidently up to trial balance. This role offers variety and responsibility, and would suit someone who thrives in a hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
Reconciling bank and supplier statements
Posting journals, accruals, and prepayments
Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
Maintaining the general ledger and producing trial balance reports
Supporting VAT returns and other compliance activities
Liaising with internal departments and external stakeholders where necessary

Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance role
Solid understanding of transactional accounting and month-end procedures
Confidence in working up to trial balance
AAT qualification (or working towards) preferred, but not essential
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks)
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
