Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Cell Leader to oversee and lead a dynamic production team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the cell meets daily customer requirements in terms of Quality, Delivery, and Cost. You will work closely with the team to maintain workflow, continuously improve performance, and uphold best practices. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong ability to motivate and manage a team while driving improvements in all areas of production.   Key Responsibilities: Support and lead the team to maintain a smooth work flow, ensuring a positive, motivated environment. Actively resolve issues to maintain team productivity and morale. Ensure customer requirements are met by addressing abnormalities that may disrupt the production flow and adhering to cycle times. Monitor and manage team attendance, work rate, and attitude. Act as a Cell Technician when needed, ensuring that all technical and operational tasks are completed accurately. Contribute to daily team meetings, using the performance board to communicate performance indicators, targets, and necessary actions for improvement. Maintain all visual management tools, including standard work documentation, the QDIP board, production target board, and the cell team board, keeping everything up to date and in accordance with current practices. Help drive and contribute to the team's improvement agenda, including Kaizen, 5S, problem solving, and engineering changes. Communicate and implement necessary actions within the team. Oversee the systems used within the cell, ensuring that all documentation, labelling, and visual management are up-to-date and accurate. Coordinate cross-training efforts to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills, keeping the training matrix updated. Ensure all necessary AX transactions (back-flushing, scrap, rework, job completion) are performed accurately and on time. Work with the Production Manager to ensure that the team works to the correct TAKT time and has the appropriate staffing and standard work splits in line with daily customer demand. Oversee smooth start-up and changeover processes, including machine setup, staff allocation, WIP management, and material replenishment. Collaborate with the Production Manager to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Foster a 5S environment and ensure that cleaning and TPM schedules are followed daily, weekly, and monthly. Ensure all work orders are completed accurately, on time, and that any issues are resolved promptly. Work with the production engineering team as necessary to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.Skills and Experience: Experience in high-level mechanical assembly Strong leadership and coaching experience, with the ability to motivate a team High level of mathematical ability, with the ability to analysed and interpret data Experience in low batch, low tolerance workshop environments (desirable) HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)Personal Qualities and Attributes: Strong, hands-on leadership style with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation, from operators to management Ability to listen, reflect, and motivate the team to continuously improve performance High level of organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to troubleshoot issues in a fast-paced environment Proactive, self-driven individual committed to driving success and continuous improvement within the team Ability to work with numbers and effectively use production software and computer systems A genuine commitment to the ongoing success of the business, ensuring the team achieves its goals and contributes to overall company growthWhy Join Us?
