Job Description
We are seeking reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 and 2 drivers to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage delivery schedules effectively.
Duties
* Operate a flatbed lorry to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
* Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly for transport.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
* Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving on public roads.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Skills
* Proven experience as a commercial driver with a valid HGV licence.
* Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for driving a flatbed lorry.
* Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS technology.
* Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo safely.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
* Good communication skills for interacting with team members and clients effectively.
Requirements
* Valid Category C Licence
* Proven experience as a delivery driver
* Strong commercial driving skills
* Ability to operate flatbed vehicles
* Excellent navigation and route planning abilities
* Commitment to safety and compliance with driving regulations
* Good communication skills and customer service orientation
