Job Title: Class 1 Shunter – Days
Location: Basingstoke
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shifts
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Job Overview: We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Class 1 Shunter to join our team in Basingstoke. This is a Monday to Friday, daytime position, offering up to £35,000 per year, with additional responsibilities including light yard duties.
The ideal candidate will have a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence and be confident in safely moving trailers around the yard, working closely with warehouse and transport teams to ensure smooth operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Shunting trailers between bays and yard areas in a safe and timely manner
Carrying out light yard duties, including basic checks and yard organisation
Conducting pre-use vehicle and trailer inspections
Ensuring accurate trailer movements and record keeping
Liaising with transport and warehouse staff to coordinate trailer availability
Adhering to all site safety rules and transport regulationsRequirements:
Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence
CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Previous experience in a shunting or yard role preferred
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliable, punctual, and safety-consciousWhat We Offer:
