Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Class 2 Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving and will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, ensuring that all deliveries are completed in accordance with company policies and regulations.
Own transport required due to location.
Duties
* Operate curtain sider lorries to transport goods to designated locations.
* Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
* Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times while adhering to traffic regulations.
* Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing of loads.
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents.
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
* Follow all health and safety regulations while on the road and at delivery sites.
Experience
* Proven experience as a commercial driver.
* Valid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence
* Familiarity with delivery routes and traffic regulations within the region.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
* A commitment to safety practices in all aspects of driving and handling cargo.
