About the Role:
An established engineering company is looking for an experienced and motivated Working Chargehand to join and lead their CNC Machine Shop team. This is a hands-on role, combining technical expertise in CNC machining with leadership duties to drive workflow efficiency and maintain high-quality production standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* CNC Programming, Setting & Operating: Confidently program, set, and operate CNC machinery using Fanuc controls.
* Team Leadership: Provide direction and day-to-day support to machinists, ensuring smooth operations and production targets are met.
* Workflow Management: Assist in scheduling and allocating machining tasks to maximize productivity.
* Quality Assurance: Uphold strict quality control measures, ensuring components meet precise specifications.
* Process Improvement: Contribute ideas for enhancing processes and increasing operational efficiency.
* Training & Mentoring: Support the development of junior machinists and be willing to further develop skills, including CAD/CAM programming.
Key Requirements:
* Strong background in CNC machining, with proven experience in Fanuc programming.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to team working.
* Eagerness to learn and develop CAD/CAM programming expertise.
* Ability to read and work from engineering drawings with high precision.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
