Position Details:
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Rate: £25.04 per hour
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days in the office, 3 days remote)
Key Responsibilities:
As a Contracts Manager, you will play a vital role in the negotiation and management of a portfolio of research-related contracts. Your responsibilities will include:
Contracts Negotiation: - draught, negotiate, review, and authorise various research agreements.- Ensure compliance with the University's financial and governance regulations.- Advocate for the best interests of the University and research colleagues, maximising academic impact and income potential.
Portfolio Management: - Facilitate timely contract negotiations to ensure prompt project launches.- Provide regular updates to senior managers on contract progress and escalate issues as necessary.- Maintain project management systems and provide management information on contract activity.- Collaborate with team members to share workload effectively.What We're Looking For:
Proven experience in drafting and negotiating contract agreements (essential).
Background in Higher Education (preferred), but we are open to candidates from other sectors.
Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with various stakeholders, including academic and financial colleagues.Supervision & Support:
You will report directly to the Senior Contracts Manager, with regular supervision meetings to discuss workflows, support, and professional development. You'll also have the opportunity to supervise assistant contracts staff and possibly line manage the Contracts Associate.

Industrial sponsors and commissioning bodies (UK, European, and beyond)
Other Higher Education institutions and collaborators
UK grant funding bodies and charities
