Position: Cover Supervisor
Location: Portishead - Shirehampton
Start Date: September 2025
Schedule: Full-time (Monday to Friday); Part-time options available
Salary: £120 to £140 per day, depending on experience
About the Role:

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Maths Cover Supervisor to support dynamic classrooms across schools Portishead / Shirehampton. Whether you're looking to build experience as a non-qualified teacher or you're an experienced professional, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to students' education in a supportive environment.
As a Maths Cover Supervisor, you'll manage classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students continue to make progress while maintaining a positive and focused classroom atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support Maths lessons during the absence of the regular teacher
Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
Provide assistance to students with their work and encourage participation
Maintain discipline and ensure the classroom remains orderly
Requirements:
A-Level qualification in Maths or a relevant degree (Teaching or related subjects) OR prior experience working in a secondary school setting
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS check, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks
Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history
