Job Title: Credit Controller
Location: Preston Area
Salary: £25,750 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller on behalf of our client, a well-established organisation within the food distribution industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic finance team within a fast-paced and customer-focused business.
The Role:
You will be responsible for managing a section of the sales ledger, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, maintaining customer relationships, and contributing to the overall financial health of the business. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with solid experience in credit control and a proactive approach to account management.
Key Responsibilities:
Proactive cash collection and account management
Handling incoming and outgoing customer calls
Investigating and resolving account queries
Issuing statements and customer correspondence
Processing daily and weekly banking
Allocating receipts and reconciling accounts
Monitoring credit limits and new applications
Maintaining accurate customer master files
Collaborating with internal teams, including sales and finance
Escalating potential bad debts and issues to management
Supporting credit reviews and recommendationsRequirements:
Essential:
Minimum 2 years' experience in credit control
Strong team player with excellent communication skills
Confident telephone manner and customer-focused attitude
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Willingness to adapt to changing business needsDesirable:
Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Dynamics
Previous experience within the distribution or FMCG sectorBenefits:
