Job Description
Veritas Education is looking to recruit confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support a range of secondary schools across Kirklees.
This role is ideal for individuals who are considering a career in teaching, recent graduates, or those with experience working with young people in a school or similar setting. As a Cover Supervisor, you will manage classroom behaviour, deliver pre-set work, and ensure pupils stay on task during teacher absences.
You'll be working in a variety of schools, gaining valuable classroom experience while supporting students aged 11-16. No planning or marking is required, but the ability to engage and motivate pupils is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise lessons across the curriculum in the absence of the class teacher
Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment
Follow school policies and procedures
Report back on student progress and any issues to senior staff
Requirements:
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage behaviour effectively
Experience working with young people is desirable
Degree or education-related qualifications are beneficial but not essential
Flexible work is available to suit your schedule, with immediate starts for suitable candidates.
