Design Engineer
£35,000 – £50,000 | Part or full-time (Minimum 30 hours/week)
Location: On-site | Monday to Friday | No weekends
We’re looking for a talented Design Engineer to join our innovative and supportive team! If you enjoy problem-solving, working with cutting-edge tools, and being part of a collaborative environment, this could be the perfect role for you. We are based in Morecambe, near Lancaster, Kendal, Carnforth or Preston, just off the M6 motorway.
What you’ll do:

Design and document new products and systems.
*
Improve existing designs by identifying and fixing issues.
*
Create 2D and 3D models (using SolidWorks).
*
Use Simulink and MATLAB to support design and development.
*
Test prototypes using LabView and ensure designs are ready for production.
*
Work with other teams to make sure everything runs smoothly.
*
Keep up with new trends and best practices in design engineering.
What we’re looking for:
*
Experience with CAD software (especially SolidWorks).
*
Knowledge of Simulink and MATLAB is a big plus.
*
Understanding of system design, GD&T, and testing processes.
*
Hands-on design experience with logic controllers, PCBA, and soldering.
*
Great problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
*
A team player who can also take initiative on their own.
