Department: Product Engineering
Reports to: Product Engineering Manager
Salary: £35,000 + per annum
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday–Friday (flexible start and finish times)
Benefits: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays, pension (4% employer, 5% employee), discretionary bonus scheme, sick pay scheme
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and innovative Design Engineer to join our Product Engineering team in Bridgwater. This role involves developing technical solutions in response to varied application needs—ranging from standard product lines to custom-designed components. You’ll play a key role in managing the technical aspects of new product introductions, collaborating closely with commercial, operational, and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities

Design effective metal and PTFE sealing solutions, ensuring both technical integrity and commercial viability
*
Provide technical support and training to Sales and Application Engineers
*
Assist with customer visits, offering hands-on technical advice
*
Support marketing initiatives, including trade shows and promotional materials
*
Prepare and manage technical and commercial proposals
*
Deliver presentations for training and product promotion
What We're Looking For
*
Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering with strong technical fundamentals
*
Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience (sealing, oil & gas, food processing, automotive, aerospace, etc.) preferred
*
Proficiency in MS Office, CAD (NX), and FEA (Abaqus)
*
Strong problem-solving, time management, and communication skills
*
Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be requiredBefore You Apply
