Exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented Design Manager to contribute to the successful delivery of a significant £20 million healthcare project in London with a leading main contractor. This role will see you working as a key member of the project team, providing crucial support to the lead Design Manager across all stages of the design process.
Our client, a well-respected and established main contractor with a strong track record in the healthcare sector, is looking for a collaborative and technically strong Design Manager to support the design delivery of this important scheme. Key Responsibilities:
Support the lead Design Manager in the management of the design process for the £20m healthcare project.
Act as a key point of contact for design-related queries, working closely with the client, design consultants, and internal project teams under the guidance of the lead.
Assist in the development and monitoring of the design programme.
Review and provide detailed feedback on design information, identifying potential issues or clashes.
Assist in the coordination and management of external design consultants.
Ensure design compliance with relevant statutory regulations, building codes, and healthcare standards.
Contribute to value engineering exercises and the exploration of design solutions.
Assist in the preparation and distribution of design team meeting minutes.
Track and report on design progress to the lead Design Manager, highlighting any potential delays or risks.
Support the smooth flow of design information to the construction team.
Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the company's design management processes.About You:
Proven experience as a Design Manager or Assistant Design Manager, ideally with some exposure to healthcare projects.
Good understanding of the design and construction process, including relevant legislation and standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Proficient in relevant design and project management software.
Relevant degree or professional qualification in a design-related discipline (e.g., Architecture, Building Services, Structural Engineering).
