Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking department. This is an exciting opportunity to spark creativity and equip students with practical skills and problem-solving abilities that extend beyond the classroom. Beginning September 2025. Duties as a Design Technology Teacher: Teach DT across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable). Deliver engaging lessons in areas such as product design, resistant materials, CAD/CAM, and/or textiles (depending on specialism). Foster creativity, innovation, and independent thinking in every lesson. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and well-organised workshop environment. Contribute to curriculum planning, enrichment projects, and extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs or design competitions. Ideal Design Technology Teacher: A qualified teacher (QTS essential) with a specialism in Design and Technology or related subject. Strong subject knowledge and experience in workshop-based teaching. A passion for hands-on learning and design thinking. Excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Design Technology Teacher. A reflective, collaborative practitioner who is committed to continuous improvement.
