Job Description
A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Oxford is seeking a passionate DT ECT to join its Design & Technology faculty from September 2025. This exciting opportunity allows a newly qualified teacher to lead hands-on learning in a well-resourced department that values creativity, technical skill, and student innovation.
The DT department features modern equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and a fully equipped workshop. The school champions a practical, project-based curriculum and encourages cross-curricular links with Art, Science, and Maths.
As a DT ECT, you’ll:

Teach Product Design and Resistant Materials across KS3 and KS4
*
Plan and deliver projects using CAD, CAM, and traditional techniques
*
Support safe workshop practices and build student confidence in technical skills
*
Participate in whole-school initiatives including enterprise events and STEM days
ECT support includes:

An experienced subject mentor with weekly review sessions
*
Access to technician support and curriculum planning tools
*
Opportunities to attend DT-specific CPD and design exhibitions
*
Peer learning opportunities with other ECTs in the school and trust
What we’re looking for:

QTS (or on track to gain it by July 2025)
*
A degree in Design Technology or a related design/engineering field
*
A passion for practical, creative education and inclusive learning
*
Commitment to safety, innovation, and student engagement
*
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
