Job Description
A dynamic and progressive secondary school in Reading is looking to appoint a Design & Technology Teacher with a focus on Engineering to join their well-established department. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practically-minded and innovative teacher who is passionate about preparing students for careers in STEM and technical fields.
This role is suitable for experienced DT teachers or early career teachers with a strong foundation in engineering principles. The school can accommodate a September 2025 start, but is open to an ASAP appointment for the right candidate.

Your Role Will Include:

Teaching Design & Technology with a focus on Engineering, covering Key Stages 3 and 4

Inspiring students to pursue engineering careers through engaging projects and enrichment opportunities
*
Supporting students in coursework, technical drawing, and prototyping
*
Contributing to the wider department through curriculum planning, assessment, and optional extra-curricular clubs
We’re Looking For a Teacher Who:
*
Has Qualified Teacher Status and specialism in Engineering, Resistant Materials, Product Design, or similar
*
Brings excellent practical and technical knowledge, especially in mechanical/electrical systems or design software
*
Has a creative and forward-thinking approach to DT and STEM education
*
Is confident using equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and hand tools
*
Is passionate about equipping students with skills for 21st-century design and engineering industries
