Job Description

Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: Competitive Independent School Scale An established and forward-thinking boys’ independent school in High Wycombe is looking for a dedicated and innovative DT Teacher with a specialism in Product Design and/or Engineering. The DT department is supported with exceptional facilities including CAD/CAM equipment, laser cutters, and 3D printing technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a progressive and well-resourced team, encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, and hands-on skill development. Responsibilities: * Teach DT (Product Design, Resistant Materials, and/or Engineering) from Year 7 to GCSE and A-Level. * Deliver lessons that combine theoretical rigour with practical application. * Guide students through independent design projects and coursework portfolios. * Ensure safe use of tools and machinery and teach best practices in workshop environments. * Contribute to school-wide innovation, clubs, and technology-based enrichment. Ideal Candidate: * DT-qualified teacher with subject specialism in Product Design, Engineering, or Resistant Materials. * Experience with CAD software and familiarity with CAM processes is highly desirable. * Organised, safety-conscious, and passionate about design education. * Willing to contribute to extracurricular activities and project-based learning. * DBS clearance required.
