Electrical Contracts Manager
An established mechanical and electrical services provider with over 55 years of experience is seeking an Electrical Contracts Manager. Specializing in delivering high-quality services across various sectors—including education, healthcare, industrial, and residential—the company offers full design and build services on contracts ranging from £100,000 to over £(phone number removed). Their in-house design team supports these projects, ensuring precision and quality at every stage.
This role is ideal for an existing contracts / projects manager seeking a company that rewards hard work and results. The successful candidate will oversee 2–3 projects and manage site managers, depending on workload. Projects are typically in the education and commercial sectors, valued between £2.5m and £5m. While a background in these sectors is advantageous, it is not essential. The company prides itself on delivering successful projects to its clients. Notable projects include the Horsham Blue Light project in the commercial and leisure sector, the Thames Barrier project in the industrial sector, the St. Peters Hospital – Abraham Cowley Unit in the healthcare sector, and the Nexus Training and Production Facility in the education sector. These projects reflect the company's commitment to excellence and its capability to handle diverse and complex assignments across various sectors.
Key responsibilities include managing projects from the pre-construction design phase through to handover, handling programming, procurement, financial management, variation accounts, and health and safety. The role requires ensuring snag-free delivery and acting as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring smooth handover with final accounts and completion of all O&M manuals.
Candidates should have experience delivering projects from the pre-construction phase through to final accounts and handover, along with proven experience managing teams across multiple projects or on single, larger projects. A strong knowledge of electrical building services installations and equipment is essential, as is an understanding of how mechanical and electrical aspects interact concerning timelines, programmes, and procurement.
This role is open to candidates looking to prove themselves but who may need additional training and/or experience, as well as those already working in a similar role. The salary range is diverse, with candidates able to expect between £70,000 and 80,000, plus an electric car.
