Involve Recruitment are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with expertise in renewable energy solutions, including solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, and electrical maintenance. This role will involve preparing precise cost estimates, analysing project requirements, and ensuring competitive pricing to support the company’s growth. The ideal candidate will have strong industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to deliver comprehensive and timely estimates while working closely with project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse tender documents, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for electrical projects.
* Develop cost estimates for solar energy systems, battery storage solutions, EV charging installations, and electrical maintenance contracts.
* Conduct site visits and surveys to assess the scope and feasibility of projects.
* Source and liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to obtain competitive pricing.
* Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
* Identify value engineering opportunities to enhance project profitability and efficiency.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to optimise cost estimates.
* Monitor market trends, material costs, and industry regulations to maintain competitive pricing strategies.
* Assist in contract negotiations and support the project handover process.
Key Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the renewable energy, battery storage, EV charging, or electrical maintenance sectors.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, and maintenance operations.
* Comprehensive understanding of electrical design principles, regulations, and industry standards.
* Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy in cost estimation and reporting.
* Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
* Electrical engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent.
* Experience in the renewable energy sector is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts would be advantageous.
* Membership of professional bodies (e.g., IET, CIBSE) is a plus.
