Job Description
Electrical Estimator
The company are a very successful and well-respected Electrical Building Services contractor based in the High Wycombe area. With a strong presence in the commercial and office fit-out sectors, they provide comprehensive electrical solutions from design through to installation and commissioning, with project values typically range from £20k to £2m. Due to ongoing business growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Estimator to join the team.
The Role:
As an Electrical Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in the pre-construction phase, preparing accurate, competitive estimates across a range of commercial electrical projects. You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, and the wider pre-construction team to ensure all bids are aligned with client expectations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tender electrical projects from £20k to £2m in value
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
* Identify scope, materials, and labour requirements
* Evaluate risks and explore cost-saving or value-engineering opportunities
* Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers/subcontractors
* Source and assess supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing
* Maintain an accurate cost database and utilise historical project data
* Assist in the preparation of detailed bid proposals and client presentations
Electrical Estimator - Desired Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Electrical Building Services sector
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and installations
* Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel
* High attention to detail and strong commercial acumen
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Relevant electrical qualifications
* Design experience is advantageous but not essential
