About the Company:
We are recruiting Electrical Estimators for an M&E contractor operating across Devon and Cornwall, with a longstanding reputation for delivering high-quality electrical installations across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Due to sustained growth and a healthy pipeline of secured projects, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their dynamic team.
Role Overview:
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be a key part of the pre-construction team, responsible for accurately pricing electrical packages on a variety of projects ranging from small works to large-scale developments. This is a critical role that directly impacts the company’s ability to win work and deliver projects profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates and cost plans.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive and competitive tenders.
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best possible quotations.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and design teams to ensure alignment of estimates with actual project requirements.
Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings when necessary.
Support value engineering and alternative design solutions to drive cost efficiency.
Maintain an up-to-date database of pricing and supplier information.
Requirements:
Proven experience in electrical estimating within a building services or M&E contracting environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, current regulations, and installation methods.
Proficient in using estimating software (e.g., Trimble/Amtech/Estimation or similar).
Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Full UK driving licence (preferred due to the regional nature of the business).
