Electronics Technician - R&D Department
Location: Margate
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Electronics Technician to join our Research & Development team. This is a hands-on role supporting the design, testing, and development of innovative products. You'll work closely with engineers in a dynamic lab environment, helping bring new ideas to life.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble and test breadboards, prototypes, and test equipment in line with engineering project needs.
Assist engineers in preparing schematic designs, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
Create jigs, fixtures, and custom test setups to support product testing and development.
Manage engineering lab supplies and tools to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Support rework of materials or components in collaboration with the manufacturing team.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Carry out additional duties as required by management.Qualifications:
OND/HND in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
Minimum of 1 year's hands-on experience in an engineering lab environment.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing techniques is desirable.Required Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of electronic components, including transistors, diodes, ICs, and amplifier circuits.
Proficient with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analysers, and spectrum analysers.
Skilled in SMT soldering, including work with components as small as 0201.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software.
Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel for technical reporting and data handling.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with engineers and colleagues.
Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently when required.CVs in Word Format to
