Red Snapper Managed Services require an Employment Advisor in Essex on a 12-month fixed term contract.
The role:
To support people on probation in overcoming barriers to employment, learning, and personal development, leading them towards positive outcomes in education, training, and quality employment opportunities.
We offer:
37.5 hours per week
12 Month Fixed Term
£32,000 per year
Hybrid, able to travel to Laindon, Basildon and Southend on Sea
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct initial assessments for new referrals, creating personalised action plans to guide service users.
Manage and maintain a caseload, ensuring proactive engagement with service users through one-to-one and group work interventions.
Facilitate tailored support to meet individual needs and preferred learning styles.
Deliver group-based interventions and employability-related workshops using approved training materials.
Liaise effectively with Probation Practitioners to coordinate support and share progress.
Identify and engage with partner organisations to provide additional specialist services.
Maintain accurate records of service user activities and outcomes using database systems.
Monitor and review individual progress, ensuring all relevant data is captured for reporting and performance evaluation.
Support service users in achieving employability outcomes, including securing sustainable learning, training, or employment placements.
Promote the service to Probation Practitioners and build strong referral pathways.
Network with local employers, training providers, and partner organisations to create opportunities for service users.
Uphold safeguarding practices in accordance with RSMS policies and ensure a safe environment for vulnerable adults.
Person Specification:
Knowledge and Understanding:
Good understanding of Offender Management Services, His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), and the wider Criminal Justice System.
Awareness of social exclusion and disadvantage, particularly in relation to individuals with offending histories.
A sound understanding of equal opportunities principles and their application in practice. Experience and Skills:
Experience of working with disadvantaged individuals or groups within a community setting.
Proven ability to deliver training or presentations to both individuals and groups.
Proficiency in IT systems and applications, including case recording databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar).
Understanding of online job search platforms, including LinkedIn and other social media tools for employment opportunities.
Ability to meet monthly performance targets across multiple key performance indicators (KPIs).
Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate and consistent data entry into case management systems. Professional Attributes:
Ability to effectively manage workload independently while also working collaboratively within a larger team.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Evidence of relevant Level 3 qualifications or equivalent work experience.
Willingness to work flexibly across locations, including travel beyond the allocated base as required.
Driving licence required.
Enhanced DBS required
SCCL vetting required.
