Job Description
Mechanical Fitters – Nationwide & European Projects
Location: Various UK Sites & Occasional European Travel
Pay: £14/hr (Basic) | £21/hr (OT & Weekends)
Allowance: £20–£28/night (after 13 weeks)
Hours: Core 8am–4pm | Regular 10hr Days | Weekends as Required

Specialising in the installation, decommissioning, movement, and maintenance of mechanical services and specialist machinery, particularly within the Glass Industry, the company has built strong partnerships with major glass manufacturing plants across the UK.

About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced and hardworking Labourers / Assistant Engineers to support our engineering teams on projects throughout the UK and Europe. This hands-on role requires flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to travel and work extended hours when required.
This is not a typical 9–5 job. If you enjoy variety, problem-solving, and being part of a team delivering exceptional engineering projects, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide labouring and hands-on support to the engineering team
* Assist in the installation and movement of specialist machinery and mechanical services
* Work safely and efficiently on-site, both in the UK and abroad
* Be prepared to work away from home, including weekends, as required
* Maintain high standards of work and professionalism on every project
Requirements
* Dependable, punctual, and reliable
* Strong team player with the ability to work independently
* FLT Licence (up to 3 tonnes) – Preferred
* Full UK Driving Licence – Preferred
* CSCS or CPCS Card – Advantageous but not essential
Work Schedule & Pay
* Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
* Typical Day: 10 hours (8 standard + 2 hours OT)
* Overtime: Time and a half after 8 hours & weekends
* Night Out Allowance: £20 per night, rising to £28 after 13 weeks
Working Patterns
* 12 Days Away: Travel back Friday afternoon, weekend off
* 5 Days Away: Travel back Friday afternoon
* Local Work: Home each night
