Overview: Working alongside our client, a leading injection moulding manufacturer of bespoke specialist products, we are looking for an Engineering Innovation Project Manager to support continued business growth.

Remit:
* This position will suit an experienced Project Manager with good technical knowledge of injection mould tooling and processing
* New product development and innovation is at the core of the company’s growth strategy and this is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to play a leading role in the continued growth of the business
* As Engineering Innovation Project Manager you will lead projects from design concept through to finish with a unique opportunity to ensure your ideas shape the future of the business
* This position is a new role within the company reflective of their strategy to grow the business through new product design, manufacture and diversification
Role:
* The Engineering Innovation Project Manager will collaborate with senior colleagues including the Head of Innovation, Toolroom Manager and Technical Manager
* As Engineering Innovation Project Manager you will be accountable for the planning and delivery of a wide range of engineering projects from new product development and implementation, through to delivering special purpose machinery
* Managing the efficient design, development and manufacture of new and existing products through effective team collaboration and planning
* Plan new product conception and development including planning, design, development, tooling, moulding, assembly and packaging
* Oversee the design, manufacture, cost analysis and delivery timing of all tooling whether in-house or through collaboration with external suppliers
* Coordinate design and development of packaging for all new and existing products
* Manage departmental productivity and maintain efficient use of time and resources
* Manage product changes and improvements in collaboration with department managers
* Working with the Operational Efficiencies Manager, develop improvements in methods and procedures for the manufacture and assembly of products
* Work closely with department managers on production issues and solutions
* Maintain records of time spent and expenses incurred on all projects including full and final costings
* Engendering a ‘right first time’ culture to all activities and taking appropriate root cause corrective action to help ensure future conformity and quality
