Engineering Technician (Monday-Friday)
£55,000-£60,000 + Package
Location: Cambridgeshire - commutable from March, Ely, Peterborough, Huntingdon, Wisbech, Downham Market, Chatteris, King's Lynn, Spalding
We're recruiting for a highly capable Engineering Technician to join a well-established food manufacturer in Cambridgeshire. This is a days-based role, Monday to Friday, ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical skills who thrives on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and mentoring others.
You'll focus on diagnosing and permanently resolving recurring faults, driving engineering standards, and improving equipment reliability. It's a role for someone who wants to move beyond reactive maintenance into true technical leadership and process improvement.
What you'll be doing:
Troubleshooting complex faults and delivering lasting fixes
Leading root cause investigations and driving improvements
Upskilling engineers and production staff through hands-on training
Supporting and delivering small engineering projects
Enhancing maintenance standards and embedding best practices
What we're looking for:
A strong background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
Proven experience in fault finding, root cause analysis, and CI
Experience in FMCG, food, or packaging environments is a plus
Confident communicator and natural mentor
Lean, Six Sigma, or CI exposure is desirable
