Location: Merton, London
Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on experience)

We are working with a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Merton that is seeking a passionate English Teacher to join their dedicated team. The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers as well as ECTs looking for a supportive environment to complete their induction.
The Role:
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 for suitable candidates. You will play a key role in helping students develop strong literacy skills and a love for literature.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to students of varying abilities.
Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
Contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with colleagues in the English department.
Support extracurricular activities such as creative writing clubs, debating teams, or school productions.
The Ideal Candidate:
Holds UK QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification).
Has experience teaching English in a UK secondary school setting or is an ECT looking to start their career in a supportive school.
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English language and literature.
Is committed to student progress, engagement, and high academic achievement.
Has strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire a love for learning.
