Job Description
Are you a creative and committed English teacher ready to bring the written word to life? Do you believe in the power of language to shape minds, voices, and futures?
At this wonderful school, we are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join a forward-thinking team. You’ll teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5, if applicable), helping students unlock the beauty of literature and master the skills of powerful communication. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as an English Teacher:
Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English language and literature
Inspire pupils to think critically, communicate clearly, and write creatively
Plan and adapt schemes of work to meet diverse learning needs
Prepare students for GCSE (and A-Level, if applicable) assessments and exams
Monitor pupil progress and provide effective feedback
Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and resources
Take part in enrichment activities such as book clubs, debating, or school productions
Ideal English Teacher:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A degree in English or a related subject
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for literature and language
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A creative, inclusive approach that supports all learners
Commitment to CPD and reflective practice
