Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving, Ofsted 'Good' Secondary School in Hemel Hempstead on a full-time, permanent basis starting September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional to contribute to a supportive and dynamic English department committed to academic excellence and student development.
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 for the right candidate. You will inspire a love of English language and literature in your students and support them in achieving their full potential through engaging and innovative teaching strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver outstanding English lessons in line with the national curriculum
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners
Contribute to departmental planning and development
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement in the classroom
Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven UK teaching experience in English at secondary level
Enhanced DBS registered on the update service (or willing to obtain)
Strong subject knowledge and passion for English
Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
