The Role:
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic English Teacher to deliver high-quality teaching to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. In this permanent role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing progress, promoting positive behaviour, and contributing to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
Assess and monitor student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and development
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support student success
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: At least 1–2 years of experience teaching English at secondary level
Qualifications: A relevant degree in English or a related subject, along with UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Training: Solid understanding of the English national curriculum and assessment practices
Skills: Strong classroom management, excellent communication, and the ability to inspire students
Safeguarding: Familiarity with safeguarding policies and procedures
All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one that is registered to the update service. Desirable Criteria:
To be considered for the higher end of the salary bracket, candidates should demonstrate:
A proven track record of excellent teaching outcomes at GCSE level
Experience in leading English or contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives
Ongoing commitment to CPD and reflective practice
