English Teacher – SEND Specialism
Location: Somerset
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are working in partnership with a highly regarded SEND school in Somerset to recruit an experienced and dedicated English Teacher. About the Role
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality English lessons to small groups and individual pupils, helping them build confidence, independence, and academic progress. The school is situated across two sites, each offering a peaceful, well-resourced, and supportive setting for both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Planning and delivering differentiated English lessons tailored to individual learning needs
Supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of students
Managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
Preparing teaching materials, maintaining records, and contributing to progress reviews and reports
Engaging with parents and carers to support pupils' learning and developmentEssential Criteria
Specialism in teaching English – a core requirement for this role
A strong, passionate commitment to supporting pupils with SEND
A minimum of two years’ experience working in a SEND setting or equivalent specialist provision
