Job Title: Estimator
Location: Tamworth
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent / Hybrid working
Salary: up to £65,000 (depending on experience) + Package
About the Company
We are working with a well-established civil engineering contractor known for delivering high-quality infrastructure and wet civils projects across the Midlands. With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Civil Estimator to join their dynamic pre-construction team.
The Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a wide range of civils projects, including drainage, water infrastructure, marine works, and general groundwork packages.
Estimator Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and submit competitive tenders for civil engineering projects.
* Perform take-offs from drawings and specifications.
* Use estimating software such as Candy or Causeway (LessGold) to compile cost breakdowns.
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
* Evaluate and mitigate commercial risks.
* Work closely with the pre-construction and operations teams to develop project strategies.
Estimator Requirements
* Proven experience as a Civil Estimator within infrastructure or wet civils
* Experience in Estimating software
* Strong understanding of groundworks, drainage, utilities, or marine civils
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Based in or able to commute across the Midlands region
Estimator Benefits
* Salary up to £65,000 DOE
* Company car or car allowance
* Hybrid working with either 2 or 3 days in the office
* 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday – Friday
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays
* Pension Scheme
* Life insurance based on 2 times your salary
