Job Description
Are you an experienced Estimator looking for a new opportunity?
We have an opening working for a successful manufacturing company based near Stourbridge
The purpose of the role is to Analyse customer requirements to prepare accurate estimate bids, ensuring timely submission of documents and budgets. Working with CAD to create and understand engineering drawings.
Duties will include
* Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand design requirements and provide technical advice to manufacturing technicians.
* Calculate costs and apply knowledge of materials and engineering principles to check the feasibility of manufacture and construction.
* Liaise with customers, external suppliers, subcontractors, and design teams, to ensure accuracy of information and quotations.
* Estimate fabrication times, working with the production team to ensure appropriate methodologies and efficiencies.
* Create high-quality detailed technical drawings and plans, modify existing drawings, and ensure compliance with industry and health and safety standards.
* Use SolidWorks/AutoCad CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, ensuring value engineering in product design.
* Participate in project meetings to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery, addressing any production issues.
The right candidate would ideally
* Hold relevant steel estimating experience, ideally in materials handling
* Have a good working knowledge of CAD.
* Commercial awareness
* Excellent computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
* Ability to collaborate closely with other departments to meet production schedules.
* Willingness to travel and perform client/site visits as required.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong team player.
