Job Description

Field Engineering Supervisor Remote (with travel to Monmouth Head Office as required) A new opportunity has arisen for a Field Engineering Supervisor to join a growing environmental engineering company, playing a key role in the coordination and delivery of engineering activities across customer sites. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with a background in electrical or mechanical engineering, who is comfortable managing a mobile team of field engineers and ensuring high-quality installation, commissioning, and maintenance work. You’ll act as the main point of contact between customers, engineers, and internal departments, supporting field-based operations and promoting best practice in a safety-critical environment. This role can be based remotely, with travel to the Head Office in Monmouth as required. Key Duties & Responsibilities * Manage and support a team of Field Engineers, overseeing the coordination, planning, and delivery of site-based engineering activities. * Ensure timely completion of installations, commissioning, and preventative maintenance work across customer sites. * Act as the key liaison between engineers, clients, contractors, and internal departments to ensure clear communication and smooth project execution. * Confirm engineering resource requirements and respond to client needs, ensuring attendance and follow-ups are completed. * Monitor and enforce compliance with RAMS, company procedures, and safety protocols. * Ensure engineers are trained, competent, and fully briefed to carry out their duties safely and effectively. * Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team. * Assist with fault diagnosis and problem solving as needed, offering support in complex situations. Skills & Experience Required * Previous experience managing and mentoring a team in a field-based engineering environment. * Familiarity with installation, commissioning, and maintenance processes. * Level 3 Qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering disciplines or equivalent experience * Organised and methodical approach to planning and task prioritisation. * Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on mindset. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with engineers, clients, and suppliers. * Full UK driving licence. Desirable * Experience in water treatment or similar environmental engineering sector (training will be provided). * Understanding of safety systems and codes of practice in engineering operations. * NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
