Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Location: Blackburn/ Greater Manchester
Salary: 45-50k
Job Description
1. Be a crucial part of our field service team.
2. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot our machinery across various sites in mainly Greater Manchester and some occasional trips to Northern Ireland and Scotland may be required but they will be rare.
3. Possess a robust background in electrical and mechanical engineering.
4. Have a particular understanding of servos, compressed air systems, PLCs, inverters, and pneumatic devices.
Aims of Role
1. Provide exceptional service and support our customers to ensure machinery operates at peak performance.
2. Minimise machinery downtime through effective preventive maintenance and prompt issue resolution.
3. Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering professional, reliable, and timely technical support.
4. Foster strong customer relationships by being a reliable point of contact for technical assistance and service.
5. Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies during installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
6. Collaborate with the engineering team to continually improve service operations and machinery performance.
Essential:
• Proven experience as a Service Engineer, ideally within the fenestration machinery industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including servos, compressed air systems, PLCs, inverters, and pneumatic devices.
• Proficiency in drive tuning and calibration of machinery.
• Understanding of fenestration manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to customers.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Experience in the UPVC/fenestration industry.
• Experience in Field Service-Related Work
Education / Person Specification:
• Proven experience as a Service Engineer, ideally within the fenestration machinery industry (training provided if necessary).
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including servos, compressed air systems, PLCs, inverters, and pneumatic devices.
• Proficiency in drive tuning and calibration of machinery.
• Good business acumen.
• Understanding of fenestration manufacturing processes and machinery.
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to customers.
