Location: Swindon Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS 1–2 An ambitious and inclusive secondary school in Swindon is seeking an Early Career Teacher of Food Technology to join its vibrant Design & Technology faculty from September 2025. This is a rare opportunity for a motivated ECT to gain their first teaching post in a school committed to practical learning, healthy living, and innovation. The school has a well-resourced DT department, with dedicated food rooms and modern equipment that allow students to explore cooking and nutrition in creative, hands-on ways. The curriculum promotes healthy eating, sustainability, and life skills, and your role will be central in shaping the next generation of confident, informed cooks. What You Can Expect: * A friendly and collaborative DT department with specialist support * Fully equipped food technology rooms and a dedicated prep area * Comprehensive ECT induction with mentoring and CPD * Strong student interest in the subject, particularly at KS3 and GCSE * Opportunities to lead or support enrichment activities such as cooking clubs Your Role: * Teach Food Preparation and Nutrition to KS3 and KS4 students * Plan engaging, practical lessons that balance creativity with key theoretical knowledge * Support students to build key culinary and safety skills * Embed food sustainability and health education into your practice * Participate in the life of the department and wider school community Candidate Profile: * A qualified or soon-to-be-qualified Food Tech or DT teacher with QTS * A passion for hands-on learning and student engagement * A clear understanding of the Food curriculum and assessment * A proactive team player committed to high standards and inclusive practice * Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check Apply today if you're an aspiring Food Technology teacher who’s ready to share your passion for nutrition and creativity in a school that will nurture your talent from day one
