Are you a passionate and knowledgeable Food Technology teacher dedicated to equipping young people with essential life skills and a love for food? Our Outstanding school in the vibrant borough of Barking, London, is seeking an enthusiastic Full-Time Teacher of Food Technology to join our dedicated and well-resourced Technology department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of confident cooks and informed consumers within the Barking community.
In this rewarding full-time role, you will:
* Cultivate Culinary Skills: Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially 5, fostering a deep understanding of nutrition, food safety, cooking techniques, and the food industry relevant to the Barking area and beyond.
* Develop Essential Life Skills: Equip students with vital skills in planning, preparing, and cooking healthy and affordable meals, promoting independence and well-being.
* Contribute to a Culture of Healthy Eating: Support and potentially lead extracurricular cooking clubs and initiatives, enriching the understanding of food and nutrition within our Barking school.
* Collaborate with a Forward-Thinking Technology Team: Work alongside dedicated colleagues in Design Technology and Computer Science, sharing expertise and contributing to a vibrant learning environment.
* Thrive in a Dynamic East London Borough: Engage with students from diverse backgrounds in the evolving and community-focused borough of Barking.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Food Technology teacher with a passion for working with young people and a strong understanding of the Food Technology curriculum.
