A small, nurturing specialist school in the Fareham area is seeking a committed and flexible Food Tech Teacher to join their team. This is a fullt time role but reduced days may be considered for the right candidate.
About the School:
Small class sizes (around 6 pupils per class) Whole school below 30 students
Pupils aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Current priorities focus on emotional wellbeing, communication development, and providing a nurturing environment
While some behaviour can be challenging, the emphasis is on building strong, trusting relationships
About the Role:
Teaching Food Technology to students up to GCSE level
Creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
Working closely with support staff and other teachers to meet individual learning and emotional needs
Full-time position, with an immediate start (though the school is willing to wait for the right candidate)
Temp-to-perm opportunity with pay to scale (MPS/UPS depending on experience)
About You:
Experience delivering Food Technology at KS3 and ideally GCSE level
Fully qualified teachers are preferred, but candidates with significant relevant experience (e.g., cover supervisors or instructors) will be considered
Calm, nurturing, and resilient with a strong understanding of SEMH needs
Confident in building rapport and managing behaviour positively
Current Child workforce enhanced DBS on the updater service at own cost
