Job Description

This school is seeking a dynamic and committed General Science Teacher to join a successful Science Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching science across Key Stages 3 and 4, and who is eager to foster a love for scientific enquiry in all learners. Beginning September 2025. Duties as a General Science Teacher: Teach general science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential) Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that support progress and curiosity Use a range of teaching and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all learners Track and report on student progress, offering targeted support where needed Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work and resources Support extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs, science fairs or trips Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues Uphold school policies and contribute to the wider life of the school Ideal General Science Teacher: Hold QTS and have a relevant science-related degree Be confident in teaching biology, chemistry and physics at KS3, and at least two at KS4 Be passionate about delivering high-quality science education Have strong classroom management and communication skills as a General Science Teacher.
