Groundworks Quantity Surveyor - Devon Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in groundworks and a desire to work on significant, high-profile projects? We are a leading Tier 1 main contractor renowned for delivering complex and innovative construction solutions across the UK. We are currently seeking a talented and driven Groundworks Quantity Surveyor to join our successful team in Devon. The Role: As a Groundworks Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for all commercial aspects of our substantial groundwork schemes from inception to final account. Your key responsibilities will include: Preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for groundwork packages. Managing and administering sub-contractor accounts, including valuations, payments, and final accounts. Conducting detailed cost analysis, identifying variations, and implementing effective cost control measures. Preparing and submitting interim valuations and final accounts for clients. Proactively identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and internal teams. Providing sound commercial advice and support to project managers and site teams. Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures. Attending site meetings and engaging in collaborative problem-solving.About You: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a significant focus on groundworks, earthworks, drainage, and foundations. Ideally, experience working for a Tier 1 main contractor or a substantial groundwork sub-contractor. A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent experience). Demonstrable experience with various forms of contract (e.g., JCT, NEC). Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client-facing abilities. Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Office Suite, ideally specific QS software). A meticulous eye for detail and a highly organised approach to work. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
