Head of Analytical – Brinsworth, South Yorkshire (multi-site UK role)
We are seeking an experienced laboratory manager to take on a high-impact leadership role, overseeing analytical services across multiple UK sites. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of chemical and gas testing in a UKAS-accredited, innovation-driven environment.
As Head of Analytical, you will provide technical direction for a leading special products business and guide the analytical services team. You will play a key role in maintaining and expanding UKAS accreditations across UK laboratory sites, ensuring world-class standards in chemical and gas testing, and driving continuous improvement and innovation.
In this multi-site Head of Analytical role, you will:
Lead and develop a cross-site analytical team, ensuring collaboration and high performance
Oversee a wide range of chemical and gas testing services, maintaining compliance with UKAS accreditation
Develop and deliver a technical strategy to meet evolving customer and business needs, including the clean energy transition
Act as the external technical expert, representing the company at key industry bodies and trade associations
Drive operational efficiency, change management, and technical innovation across all analytical sites
The ideal Head of Analytical will bring:
A chemistry degree (or equivalent) and technical experience in the industrial gases sector
Deep expertise in analytical instrumentation and gas quality measurement
Strong leadership experience, ideally across multiple sites and stakeholders
Hands-on experience working within a UKAS-accredited environment (ISO 17025)
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and change management skills
